Good afternoon,
Over the past 2 weeks I have been hearing 1 word, repeatedly. That word is
“Surrender”
I have been asking many people what this word means. I have even been asking people how to “do” surrender; are there any steps? I have even been meditating on this word and have come up with a few ideas after having a conversation with a dear friend and mentor.
I believe the word SUrrENDer means to END all SUffering. Perhaps it always has been that easy to interpret.
To surrender is a knowing that there IS a way. It is knowing that “thy will be done”. It is knowing that the very thing you want, you already have. It is knowing that you are being guided and guarded.
The steps taken to surrender are just 3.
1. Stop doing.
The act of “doing” to get the desired outcome is like an acting of “dying””
Doing and Dying are just one letter apart, with the difference being vowels. The act of doing out of panic and desperation brings you more suffering.
2. Ease up.
My friend Asharf Moorad says, when you surrender you “Ease Up”. When you ease up, you relax, when you relax, your body is lose, this allows energy to flow easily through you. When you are in flow, you grow.
3. Forget about it.
Whatever it is that is worrying you, just forget about it. Whatever it is you want done or whatever result you want, forget about it. In other words get out of your head and into your heart. Feel with you heart. Your mind will create fear and doubt. It is against you. Your heart is for you. The heart is the source of all Love.
Where there is Love, there is God. Where there is God there is Peace.
There is a bhajan or kirtan (sanskrit for adoration or praising of the divine) which has the following words:
“For peace there is a way, for joy there is a way, for all the success and the bliss, surrender is the way, self surrender is the way”
May you find peace and all you desire in the quiet stillness of your heart.
Surrender brings Serenity.
I love you.
Love,
H
