We often feel unsupported by life. It sometimes feels like the things we want really elude us. Where is the freedom, the relationships, the jobs, the money, the health and peace we seek?
In fact it appears that we are getting the opposite of what we really want.
The key word in the previous sentence is APPEARS.
Life does not spoon feed you. In fact life believes much more in you than you do in yourself. We are only given challenges, that life believes we can handle or we would not be given them. Imagine if you were trapped in a room. Maybe some of you feel trapped in life. You yearn for freedom more than anything else in the world. There is nothing in the world that you would rather have than this freedom. And so you curse life and ask why you are trapped here. You want a way out. Suddenly a teaspoon appears in your hand.
You look at the teaspoon and you curse again! How dare the Universe insult you this way! Is life mocking you?
You can either use the support life gives you to get you what you want, or you can play victim. I think there is a fine line between what we want, and what we really want. If we really want something, we will do whatever it takes to get that very thing, if we don’t then we will use whatever excuse to complain that we can’t get it done.
Life is supporting you to get what you want, by putting you in a position to bring what you want OUT OF YOU.
Let me use some examples to clarify:
I want to learn patience:
What life does: Makes you wait in line longer.
I want to be stronger:
What life does: Bring in more people to push your buttons.
I want to be free.
What life does: Creates circumstances where you are trapped.
I want more money:
What life does: Takes away even the little you have.
I want a relationship:
What life does: Makes sure every person you like rejects you.
Life is going to push you and push you hard. If you want to fly, you have to jump of that mountain. Life is helping you get what you want. Life really is on your side.
Life also wants to save you from yourself. Let’s say you are diabtetic and you wanted to eat a death by chocolate cake. Life will do whatever it can to stop you from getting to that cake, if eating it is not for your highest and greater good.
Where in your life is LIFE giving you a teaspoon?
Love,
H
