Hello everyone. My name is Hitesh….

HELLO HITESH!

… And I am a drama addict.

68% of all statistics are made up. Including this one. But if I had to take an educated guess based on the clients I work with I would say more than 90% of people are drama addicts.

No matter how beautiful their life may be flowing they will find something to moan about, complain about and curse about. If there isn’t then they will create some drama or make it up from absolutely nothing! We are all addicts to something. Some addictions appear better than others but you don’t want to be addicted. I am personally addicted to reading, writing and speaking professionally. I can read all weekend and ignore my family and friends. Not good! Do I want to give it up? Not yet… Just a little more… We all have choices and have to be responsible for the consequences of these choices.

Here is my 12 step programme to stop being a drama addict. (Also known as as a drama queen or a drama king)

1. Realise that no one is interested in your stories. They are too busy with their own life. When you tell your story, you drain them of energy. Nobody likes energy vampires.
2. If you create drama it means you feel your life doesn’t have purpose or value. Find out what it is you were born to do or least do things you love. When you are engaged in meaningful activity you have no time for drama.
3. We tend to copy or mirror the behaviour of our parents. We do this when we are children to impress them. We aren’t children anymore. Not all of our parents habits serve us. If your parents were drama addicts, you don’t have to be one. Be you.
4. Don’t take things personally. People love themselves more than they love you. So when they say something to you that hurts, it’s really about them. If they do something that hurts, it is really about them. Walk away!
5. Keep up the drama addict routine and you will earn the title of drama queen. You don’t want that nick name at work or among family do you?
6. Drama = Chaos. The more chaotic you are, the less peace you experience. The less peace you experience, the more horrible your life becomes.
7. The mouth that keeps talking unnecessarily reflects a mind that is full of unnecessary thoughts. Meditate.
8. Remember the phrase “Just for today” Just for today cease to be a drama addict. Notice how things flow so much better.
9. Drama addicts become a form of entertainment. When I am bored, I go onto Facebook to the known drama queens and I get entertained. Not that I judge. I am just always amazed at human beings amd their crazy behaviour. Do you really want to be someone’s soapie?
10. Record your story on your phone and listen to it all day. You will realise how annoying and silly you sound soon enough. If you can’t listen to yourself, how do you expect others to?
11. Let go of people and things that give you reason to create drama. Fill your lufe with people that inspire you and love you.
12. Go to the beach and scream out your lungs. Now dip your feet into the ocean. Nature, water and salt all natural detoxes. Walking bare feet will also ground you.

I hope this little message has helped you. Pass it on scretely to known drama addicts in your life.

Love,
H
