Good morning,
There are some things in life that happen which bring a lot of pain. Such things include natural disasters, losing people you love, getting your heart broken, being abused, violence of any form…and I am sure you could add to this list.
Without such things you would agree that there would much peace on earth.
However, these things that bring pain, seem to be the only way to bring humans to realise who they really are. Which is a being of love, whose only function is to love.
During times of natural disasters, people reach out to help. At that time it does not matter the colour of skin or sexual preference of the person needing help – it is peoples natural reaction to love and serve. The disaster is there to bring this out in people. Sounds sad, but you would also notice this.
In 2010, South Africa hosted the Fifa world cup. Yes this wasn’t a natural disaster but being a South African, it was plain to see how my fellow citizens came together. There was a unity, there was a form of love, people felt connected, people treated each differently. If you are South African you will know what I am talking about. Where did that spirit go when the event was over?
Certain events bring out the true nature of human beings. I believe that the more we act like beings of love, the less we need harsh circumstances to bring us to play our natural role.
For those who are abused, we have people reaching out to love.
For those who are heart broken, we have people reaching out to love and support.
For those who lose someone, even then people reach out to love.
It seems to me, that only at funerals do people look at their own lives and the people that they love to realise how precious they are. Why wait then to love? Why wait for a natural distaster? Why wait for an event so extreme?
You can love today. You can love now.
Commit to being an instrument of love and you will be part of bringing peace to earth. Natural distasters, violence, abuse etc…can be completely eliminated.
Remember to be a being of love not only means to love other people, but most importantly to love thyself first.
To love thyself is to know thyself.
Love,
H
