Good Morning,
I am often asked if I pray.
My initial answer is a simple No.
I could say yes to not engage a further conversation, but that would mean I am not being true to myself. I am then of course asked to elaborate. – and so the following is repeated…
I am not religious. I do not belong to a religion. Religion comes from the latin word “to bind”. I am free being, who has studied all religions, and honors and respects each one, and can find home in any temple, church or mosque. Religion has it’s place, as it provides the foundation of your knowledge of knowing thyself and your connection with God.
Am I spiritual? Well, what is spiritual? And further more, where is spirit not? We are all spiritual beings. Perhaps I choose to acknowledge I am one. Do you?
I am not into ritualistic prayer. Again, that does not mean, I will not partake in a prayer or ceremony. These rituals help you connect with source. Like phoning a friend using a phone. You have to DO certain things in order to connect. But before you do a RITual…do you understand the RITes?
There 3 types of prayer:
1.There are those that pray for things.
2.There are those that pray for things and then make a bargain with God for it being manifested.
I believe that God gives us what we ask for. What if God knows that we deserve so much more, but only gives us what we want, because in this moment, it is the only thing we allow ourselves to receive?
Then perhaps the best thing to ask for is “What you WILL Lord.”
God needs nothing from you. Not your time, as God doesn’t exist in the realm of time space. Neither does he need your love. God loves you unconditionally…whether you love him or not, you are his favourite. Perhaps all he wants is for you to know that.
3. This is how I pray.
“Thank you God”
I do that and I’m constantly chatting with God. All day. All night.
So, next time I see you, and you ask me if I pray…please ask me to email you, it’s easier than giving this speech…
All love,
H
