Good Morning .!!!
There are different types of people in the world. But just for today, we are going to categorise them into 4 groups.
The Optimist, The Pessimist, The Realist, & The Opportunist.
We are actually all of the above in varying degrees. However, we all have one that is predominant over the others. It is not fixed, and can change over time as your values & perceptions change.
So what’s the difference between the 4 groups? Here’s a short story:
*An optimist, a pessimist, a realistic & a opportunist sat around a table. In the middle was a glass of water.
The optimist said, “The glass is half full.”
The pessimist said, “The glass is half empty”
The realist said, “Who cares? At least we have water!”
The opportunist, says nothing. He drinks the water while the other 3 are arguing.*
In order for a hero to exist, you need a villain. In order for a optimist to exist you need a pessimist. Both exist simultaneously, and both are needed. An optimist invented the plane, a pessimist invented the parachute. Can we argue that we need just one? NO! We need both. Life would not be possible with the “positive” and “negative” (Duality is an illusion, but maybe ill explain another time)
There is a fine line between and optimist & a positive thinker. Positive thinkers want to see daylight all the time, optimists know that the sun will set, but have faith it will rise again tomorrow. It’s vital to have a positive mental attitude, but everything in life has a blessing and drawback, and if you try to get one side of the coin, you are only opening the door the misery.
Pessimists will focus on the sunset, while the sun is still out.
A realist says he has 12hours of daylight and does his/her work within that time.
An opportunist, doesn’t really care, he/ she makes the most they can of this moment..
My ex girlfriend used to call me an opportunist & I used to feel bad. But now that I think about it, it was more or a compliment than an insult.
Love,
H
