Should we all be allowed to vote?

I am probably the last person who should be writing about politics or even human rights, but I am going to share my thoughts about the upcoming elections, which may not be correct or morally right for that matter. I would like some feedback though.

Regardless of the way our country is currently being run, by the government that runs it, the hard truth is we know they will be in power for at least another 4 elections or 20 years. It doesn’t make sense that they do, but they will.

Why is this the case?

Well, simply because the majority of the people will vote them in. In order words the mass’s will decide the fate our country and the fate of the people, and well you and of course me. This disturbs me a little bit. It disturbs me because from all my research and study, I know that the road to success is a road less traveled. It is a quiet path only traveled by those who dare to be extraordinary rather than ordinary, those that thrive for excellence rather than mediocre, those that want to break free rather than live in limits, those that make rules, instead of follow them.

What I am trying to say is, throughout history, it only took a few people to bring about positive change. A few good men or women, who we can call super human beings whom we want to model. These are people whose footprints we want to follow. One of the qualities of these great leaders is the ability to make decisions, and make decisions quick and make “good” decisions.

Very few people can do this. You know this is true. I have traveled long enough to know people even struggle to choose “Chicken or Fish”. How long does it take your friends or family to order a meal when you go out? How about deciding what to wear to work? Or deciding which car to buy? It takes just as long to buy a pair or shoes as it does to buy a car. Trust me, it’s true. I love shoe shopping and car shopping. (I am metro-sexual). So here’s the thing, if we (as the mass’s) cannot decide on “chicken or fish” (I don’t choose, I am vegi) then why do they let us vote? Are we really in a position to vote? What makes it “right” for us to vote? How can we let the mass’s go out and decide the fate of our entire country? How do you feel about Mr X or Ms Y deciding how you experience your life as a citizen in this country? YES, as human beings, we should all have a right to voice, to be heard to be given an opportunity to shape out nation, but not all people make “good” decisions, not all people make the “right” one.

Are human beings equal? Are we all equal? I totally disagree. Men and women are certainly not equal. I have a mother, and I have had girlfriends. Women are far more superior than than men, even if we would never admit it. I could never equal the value of a women. It is true. Are children the same as adults, are they equal? I dare say not. If I were a father of daughters or sons I would die for my kids, or defend them until my last breath. I can go on – but my point is we are all not intellectually equal or emotionally equal; yet we all have the same voice when it comes to voting. We are each given the same power. It is called a democracy. I am a democrat, but I fear what will be of our country in 20 years.

The question is, should be all we allowed to vote, or should there be a screening of some sort? If so how will it be done? What do you think? How do you feel?

I love our country, but I think I love our people more. I also think our people are not in a position to decide what is best for themselves. My work involves helping people make the best decisions for them by shifting their thoughts, perceptions and beliefs. Which can take anything from 1 session to 5 sessions; and these are people that hold high positions in society. What about the mass’s? How do they know they are making the “right” decision without any help with someone like myself? They don’t, do they?

In all fairness, it is not just our country I speak of. This applies world wide, to every country. It erks me when people say “This can only happen in SA” This is not true. No place, country or person is perfect, and the grass is not greener on the other side. We have a beautiful country, but it can be even more beautiful.

Here is a possible solution: We have a “BIG 5” political party’s and they each rotate every 2 years, each one trying to outdo, outlast and outvote each other!

Whatever it is, you have a right to your vote next month, THINK before you INK. Follow your Heart and NOT the political campaigns.

In no way do I mean to offend or upset any person or group or party. If you are offended I apologise. This is my opinion, which is not necessarily correct or right.
