The wheels on the bus

Good morning,

When I was in high school, I observed something that I thought was a unique idea at that time. It turns out a few other teachers have the same theory as I did. This doesn’t mean that it is true, but it makes sense.

I believe that you are on a journey or a road trip and you are traveling by bus. I say bus and not car because it fits in more people. In this bus you have an “x” amount of people. I haven’t gotten down to the exact number, but I believe it’s the same for everyone.  No one leaves or enters this bus once the journey begins. Let me explain this to you. In this bus you have certain types of people; which includes the way they look, their personality type and their values. In your life you will always have these people present. That is not to say you will forever have a certain person in your life physically, but their essence never leaves. You will find parts/pieces of everyone from your past in your life even today. If you come to understand this, its very hard to miss anyone or claim they left you, simply because they are always there in some form.

Up to this point in your life you have met everyone you are going to meet in the bus. Well, not really…there is one seat in the bus that has a mirror. Everytime you sit across this seat, you see yourself. Or rather you see yourself. Sometimes we end up finding “new” people who we fall in love with. But it’s not really a new person, you have discovered a new part of your own self which you see reflected back in the mirror. This person is not more amazing than you. It is you. But if you give away your power, and become infatuated with the mirror, soon this mirror shatters. The world without is a reflection of world within – your heart shatters. No one is better than you. They are all you. Once you own the trait/s you see in them, you become more important, you hold all the trump cards!

There is also an empty seat on the bus. The times when we feel lonely we sit there. But you are never really alone. There’s an entire bus full of people with you.

As you have realised, you are a passenger. You are not the driver. We all traveling the same path. There is no taking the wrong turn. We may have detours, but we always on track, we may have stop streets, but we always move forward, we may come to crossroads, but you are only stuck if you don’t decide. You can’t make a wrong turn. My Garmin always says, “recalculating” and that’s what life  does. It finds a way to get to back.

Are you not happy that you are a passenger? Well think about the times when you had a school trip and you took a bus. How much fun was that? We have forgotten to be kids again. Now we want to be the bus driver. There’s no fun there!

There are 2 delusions that will mess you up real good! 1 is that you can control things and people.2 is that emotions are good things.

Stop wanting control. Why swim when you can float? You control nothing. You never did and never will. When we think we do, that’s when trouble starts.

Why get drowned by a sea of emotions when you can stay centered and grounded in Love?

The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round…all day long.

Love,
H
